I recently had a chance to witness the Microsoft Holo Lens in person.  Rarely have I been completely amazed at advances in technology.  The Holo Lens may be one of the biggest game changers in the next few year. 

Imagine a world where you can interlace your physical world and your virtual world seamlessly.  You can play the movie on any wall virtually, have holographic weather apps and even interact with your virtual dog?  While these things have the potential for amazing home uses, the business uses are even more significant.

On stage at Microsoft World Wide Partner Conference, I had a chance to see this demonstrated live!  There were a couple of sessions where they showed the depth of this solution.  One where they had the motorcycle frame and virtually built the mirrors, gas tank and such.  The designer could view his changes live and even see what it would look like from a riders perspective.  Another demonstration showed where a person could interact with a blank space with movies, apps and more.

Think of the business applications.  A home decorator could come into your house and show you what the final product looked like before a single thing was painted or replaced.  Or, a virtual showroom of cars where you could tour them before they are even built.

I am eagerly waiting for the future of this technology.  It is going to be a couple of years before we have a chance to really get immersed.  However, this is all built on the foundation of Windows 10 that cameWin out July 29, 2015!
