Nex-Tech Supervisor Advocates for Rural Health Care and Telemedicine in Washington, D.C.

When it comes to health care in rural America, the obstacles are many, with the distances to travel being first among them. Exposure to chemicals used in farming can increase the rates of certain types of cancer, and rates of other chronic diseases are higher than in urban areas. Because physically getting to a provider is more difficult, these conditions may be more serious by the time they are diagnosed.

Dear Friend,

The Pike Valley summer baseball theme is “A team above all. Above all a team!”

We set a goal to raise $3,000 to support Pike Valley’s kindergarten through sixth grade baseball players’ maintenance & equipment costs, as well as to purchase aluminum bleachers for fans and to remodel the dugouts! In order to meet this goal, we asked for sponsorships from local businesses and individuals such as you and we surpassed our goal with the help of grants from the Republic County Community and the Dane G. Hansen Foundation!

In response to your recent gift to the Pike Valley summer baseball program, I join with the players and coaches and say thank you for your generous contribution. Your commitment to helping create opportunities for the advancement of our youth’s summer baseball program is sincerely appreciated.

With my continued best regards and appreciation for your contribution.

Sincerely,
Christy Newman
